Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026
1. Overview
This policy explains what data Braule ("we", "us") collects through the Braule mobile app and the braule.com website (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. Short version: live camera training is processed on your device; only videos you explicitly upload are sent to the cloud; we don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
2. What we collect
Account data
- Email address and password (or Apple Sign-In identifier).
- Optional profile details: display name, discipline, skill level, stance.
Training data
- Session statistics generated by the app: strike counts and types, timings, scores, streaks and similar metrics.
- Live training video is NOT collected. During live and guided training the camera feed is analyzed in real time on your device and is not recorded or transmitted to us.
Uploaded videos (Video Coach)
- If you choose to upload a video for AI analysis, that video is transmitted to and stored on our cloud infrastructure and processed to produce your analysis.
Technical data
- Basic device/app information and diagnostic logs needed to operate the Service.
- On the website: anonymized visit analytics (Vercel Analytics), no advertising trackers.
3. How we use data
- To provide the Service: run analyses, keep your training history, sync across sessions.
- To enforce free-tier usage limits and prevent abuse.
- To fix bugs and improve detection quality.
- To improve our machine-learning models — only using data from users who explicitly participate in our tester program with consent; regular users' training data is not used for model training.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Processors we rely on
We use a small number of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication and video storage.
- Modal — cloud compute that processes uploaded videos (pose estimation, strike detection).
- Google (Gemini API) — generates the written analysis from extracted, non-identifying training metrics.
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymized site analytics.
These providers process data only as needed to deliver the Service and under their own security commitments.
5. Camera and permissions
The camera permission is used solely to analyze your technique during training and, if you choose, to record videos for analysis. The microphone permission is used only when recording videos. The photo library permission is used only to pick videos you select and to save recordings you ask us to save. You can revoke permissions at any time in system settings; related features will stop working.
6. Retention and account deletion
- We keep your data while your account is active.
- You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion immediately deactivates the account and permanently blocks access to it.
- Residual records may be retained for a limited period after deletion for security, abuse-prevention, backup-rotation and legal purposes, and are then removed or irreversibly de-identified.
- You may also request deletion or a copy of your data by emailing us (Section 10).
7. Security
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Access to production data is restricted, and uploaded videos are stored in private storage accessible only through time-limited signed URLs. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the current version with its effective date is always at braule.com/privacy. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
